French battery manufacturer Verkor invests 13 billion yuan to produce batteries


According to reports, French battery manufacturer Verkor has announced that it will open and operate a lithium battery production plant with an annual output of 16GWh in France in 2023, and expand its annual output to 50GWh according to market development. The plant will begin construction in 2022 and deliver the first batch of battery products by 2023. It is understood that the initial investment of the project is 1.6 billion EUR (approximately RMB 13 billion), and the batteries produced will be used in electric vehicles (EV) and stationary energy storage.


Volkswagen will produce batteries in the United States

CATL becomes the head supplier of Mercedes-Benz

Daimler officially became a shareholder of Funeng Technology

BMW and Northvolt sign battery supply contract

Slovak startup raises 10 million euros to produce customized batteries for electric vehicles

Europe plans battery factory project, Germany and France jointly build a total investment of up to 5 billion EUR


According to foreign media reports, Germany and France plan to promote a battery project with a total investment of up to 5 billion EUR (about 38.3 billion yuan) in Europe, with a total production capacity of about 48GWh. It aims to benchmark production capacity with Tesla's Chinese suppliers. The new battery factory jointly built by Germany and France will meet 10-15% of Europe's battery demand.


By 2030, the number of electric vehicles on the roads in Germany will reach 7-10 million. The European Commission also stated that by around 2025, the market value of the EU battery cell market will reach 250 billion EUR (approximately RMB 1.9 trillion).
