Driverless transportation system


Parts logistics is the key to ensuring the efficient production of the entire factory. In Audi's smart factory, all parts logistics transportation is completed by unmanned driving system.

Light robot


In the Audi Smart Factory, miniaturized and lightweight robots will replace manual labor to achieve the installation and fixation of trivial parts.

In the Audi Smart Factory, flexible assembly vehicles will replace manual screwing. Several robotic arms are arranged in the assembly trolley, and these robotic arms can perform position recognition and screw tightening according to the established procedures.


Assembly assistance system


The assembly assistance system can prompt workers where assembly is needed, and test the final assembly results.

In some wiring harness assembly tasks, manual participation is also required. The assembly assistance system can prompt workers which locations require manual assembly, and display the final assembly on the display to determine whether it is qualified to prevent defective products.


Flexible gripping robot


The flexible grasping robot invented by Audi Smart Factory is different from the current grasping robot. The biggest feature of this robot is the flexible tentacles. This structure is similar to the chameleon tongue, and it is more flexible to grasp parts.

In addition to grasping ordinary parts, the flexible grasping robot can also grasp fine parts such as nuts and washers.


VR Virtual Assembly


In the future, Audi Smart Factory will use VR technology to implement virtual assembly to discover problems that occur during the research and development stage.

Data glasses


This set of equipment is similar to the assembly assistance system. Data glasses can analyze the parts you see and find defects and problems.

3D printing technology


In the Audi Smart Factory, 3D printing technology will become popular, and by then, most parts of cars will be available through 3D printing technology.

At present, 3D printers for manufacturing objects from powder plastic have been manufactured, and the next stage is the development of 3D metal printers. Audi specially designed a metal printing laboratory to develop this technology.
